Troglobytes Games, the developers of HyperParasite, have announced that the game will be released on April 3 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
While the team at Troglobytes Games is made up of industry veterans and new talents, according to their website, HyperParasite appears to be their first title under this specific development team. Past work from members of Troglobytes includes Kien, Etrom – The Astral Essence, the King‘s Island series and the Fantasy Kommander series.
This new roguelike game will have players dropped into a synthwave-mullet drenched aesthetic while fighting to survive in this procedurally generated rogue-lite SHMUP.
You play as the titular parasite — yep, you’re the big bad guy in this game. Being a parasite in a video game provides all the challenges of being a real parasite, fun! When you’re not infecting a host, you’re weakened to the point that a paper airplane could kill you. In order to fight and survive the five acts of HyperParasite, you’ll need to infect a lot of people.
Finding a host is important, as they’ll be your main weapon throughout your run. With at least 60 different variations of people to infect, finding a playstyle should be pretty easy.
HyperParasite also offers co-op, so you can grab a friend and fight together, all while bopping to the games synthwave soundtrack. I mean honestly, who doesn’t vibe to synthwave?
If that’s not enough of a reason, they’re also running a pre-order sale. Let me break it down real quick:
Players on Steam, PS4 and Xbox One will receive a 33% discount until April 18.
Nintendo Switch players in the EU will be able to grab a 33% discount between March 24 and April 18. However, North American players only have until April 12.
If you have a Switch and you’re an existing customer with QubicGames in the EU or NA, you can snag HyperParasite for 50% off between March 24 and April 18.
Grab a friend, grow out your mullet and get ready to get infectious on April 3!
