Munich-based indie developer Mimimi Productions is looking for 500 people to pick up their six-shooters and take on the closed beta for their upcoming game, Desperados III.
A nominee for Best Strategy Game of E3 for the Game Critics Awards, Desperados III puts you into the spurs of the five-person gunslinger squad struggling to get along until a grave threat forces their cooperation.
Desperados III draws heavy inspiration from the first title in the series, Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive. In the game, you utilize player choice and allows you to use stealth as an option to even the odds against a large number of enemies. From the frontier to the musty swamps, your team will travel day and night taking on bandits and corrupt lawmen. Each mission will use everyone’s unique skillset. You don’t have to be lethal about your combat method either for the pacifists out there.
Founded in 2011, Mimimi Productions has developed Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, a game that’s won multiple awards.
While an official release date has not been slated, Desperados III is entering its final stages of development and is expected to release this year. Mimimi Productions and THQ Nordic will be choosing 500 people to take part in their closed beta. The beta is running from July 9 to July 21.
“This is not a ‘pre-order now to play the game before anyone — but we don’t really need [your] feedback because [the] release is in just two weeks,’ closed beta [that] people might be used to nowadays. We really want to invite the community to play the game while it’s still under construction and share their thoughts and wishes with us. And we want to have the time to react to the players’ input and to optimize the game together,” said Narrative Director at Mimimi Games Dennis Huszak.
If you like real-time strategy, the wild west and some good action, then draw your weapon and sign up for the beta here! If you don’t make the cut for the beta, Desperados III will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2019.
