Players can expect more humor, snappy dialogue, and point and click, pixelated action with the news that developer Spooky Doorway hit their Kickstarter funding goal for The Darkside Detective Season 2. With three days to go until the deadline, they hope to reach their stretch goal of including an Anthology Case that allows players to see Darkside Detective’s world of Twin Lakes through different eyes. As of this writing, they have raised $41,322, and need around $59,202.72 to meet the stretch goal.

The first entry followed Detective Francis McQueen as he investigates occult and supernatural mysteries dealing in the game’s Darkside, in traditional side-scrolling adventure style. Season 2 will pick up where the first ended and continue the player’s journey as McQueen. The sequel is expected to launch in 2020 for PC, Mac, Linux, and the Nintendo Switch.

For more information on the games, check out Indie Ranger’s review of the first season, which was recently made available for the Nintendo Switch.
