California publisher Modus Games have revealed Cris Tales, described as a ‘love letter to classic JRPGs’, will be releasing in 2020. Under joint development by Dreams Uncorporated and SYCK, Cris Tales features old-school turn-based combat and character recruitment all rendered in hand-drawn 2D visuals.

Crisbell’s journey across Crystallis will be aided by the ability to experience various points in time simultaneously – having an impact both on exploration and battles as the future changes instantly with manipulation of past and present.

Cris Tales will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. A demo is available on Steam currently and more information can be found on its official site.

To stop the Time Empress and rewrite the future of the land, you will embark on a harrowing journey across the kingdoms, meeting and recruiting powerful allies to aid in the fight. Peer into the past, act in the present, and watch as your choices dynamically change the future — all on one screen as you play!
