From Sketchbook Games, Lost Words: Beyond the Page has recently been confirmed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch. With the addition of the Switch this means the game will be releasing on all the major platforms. Playstation 4, Xbox One and Steam releases have already been announced.

Players are put in the role of a young girl exploring the fantasy land of Estoria. Players will interact with storybook words to influence the world around them. For instance the word “Rise” can be used to lift a platform, or “Repair” can fix a bridge. Along the way players will encounter a variety of puzzling challenges and platforming stages which make use of this power.

Lost Words: Beyond the Page was written by Rhianna Pratchett whose other works include Mirror’s Edge, Overlord and the 2013 Tomb Raider. Overarching themes of love, loss and grief are present throughout the story. Lost Worlds: Beyond the Page has already received multiple awards such as ‘Best Indie Game’ at Game Connection Paris and the ‘Special Selection Indie Award’ at Reboot Develop.

Readers can find out more about Lost Words: Beyond the Page here. The game is also available to wishlist on Steam.
