Ever have those days where your body is so far gone you have to attach your soul to a stranger just to get by? No? Well, in Red Horizon’s Soul Thief you play as a wayward soul whose found themselves inside the body of a magical creature all while other creatures attack you on your journey.
Here is a brief description from the game’s webpage:
“Soul Thief is a fully fledged RPG! You’ll get to collect items, solve mysteries, meet new people and more importantly… Discover the truth about yourself. Your journey begins when you wake up in a monster’s body with no memories whatsoever. Trying to recover from your amnesia, you’ll look for your original body, hoping you can re-fuse your Soul with it. However, your problems are much deeper than it seems…”
The trailer above paints a dark and gloomy world, but the developer promises multiple landscapes from frozen plains to the heart of volcanoes themselves. Also said to be included are RPG elements such as a broad arsenal of swords, potions, and magical ores. From the trailer it seems to have a platformer-RPG influence, and the art presence certainly has a dark fantasy style to it. Hopefully we can see more soon, otherwise I’m not quite certain I will pull my own parasitic soul from the pour creature I’ve attached it to (my poor, poor girlfriend…)
