Today it was announced that current president of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aimé will be retiring. He will be succeeded by the current Head of Sales & Marketing Doug Bowser after April 15, 2019.

Famous for his playful showmanship on social media and events like E3, Fils-Aimé has been a recognizable part of Nintendo’s image in America for over a decade. He initially entered Nintendo in 2003 as the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Meanwhile Doug Bowser joined Nintendo of America in 2015 after working at Electronic Arts for eight years.
As a big part of Nintendo Directs, viewers will have to get use to another new face once Doug Bowser take the helm. Whether this new leadership will change anything will be seen in the following months.
