‘Grindhouse Games Vol 1’ Releases on Itch.io, Steam to Follow

While Halloween decorations are already popping up in stores, indie developers keep churning out horror content regardless of the season. Black Eyed Priest Games, the retro horror developer behind the recent Puppet Combo Presents title Tonight It Follows, has released Grindhouse Games Vol 1 on Itch.io. The set includes Peepaw, Shotgun, and Witching Hour at Hell House. Though each title has been previously released, they have all been brought back not only for an upcoming Steam release but with new content since the initial launch. The games each gather inspiration from classic NES games as well as exploitation and horror films of the 70s.

Peepaw is described as a “side-scrolling horror game where you must escape the dark house from Peepaw and the various ghosts and demons he unwittingly summoned! Will you be able to find Meemaw and escape alive?”

In Shotgun, “The player takes control of a desperate vigilante who must utilize her trusty shotgun to blast a bloody path through a ruthless gang’s hideout in order to rescue her kidnapped son.”

Last, Witching Hour at Hell House is a horror game where players are forced to “escape while fending off the various horrors that dwell inside the house and maybe even uncover the tragic events that [have] befallen the previous residents.”

Players can jump right into the original or extended editions of these titles on the developer’s Itch.io page as well as Grindhouse Games Vol 1. Black Eyed Priest Games hopes to have them up on Steam as soon as possible.
