Nintendo Switch Nindies January 2019 Lineup

On yesterday’s Nintendo Indie Highlights showcase, Nintendo showed more of some previously announced games as well as a few new ones coming to the Switch in the near future.

Indie Ranger has the rundown on what was revealed for future indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch.


WarGroove

Release Date: February 1, 2019 (Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC) PS4 release a little later.

Wargroove, announced in 2017, is a fantasy turn-based tactics/strategy game developed and published by Chucklefish that is similar to the Fire Emblem series. A new cinematic trailer (shown above) was released along with a release date. 50 hours of single-player campaign will be available, along with the ability for players to create their own maps, campaigns, and stories.


SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech

Release Date: 2019 (Releasing first on Nintendo Switch)

SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech is a roleplaying card game developed by Image and Form Games. It touts a beautiful hand-drawn world which you will explore with a party of three, using over 100 cards in battles of wits.


CrossCode

Release Date: 2019 on Nintendo Switch

CrossCode is a 2D action-RPG where you play as an existing avatar (Lea) who is trapped in an MMO. You will interact with characters controlled by players in the real world of the game’s story. The game has already released on PC and will come to the Nintendo Switch in 2019 with exclusive content.


When Ski Lifts Go Wrong

Release Date: Available Now

When Ski Lifts Go Wrong is a construction puzzle game from Curve Digital and Hugecalf Studios was given a surprise release (announcing a full release on Nintendo Switch, and that the game was leaving Early Access on Steam.) The game challenges players to build haphazard rides to get eager skiers from one side of the mountain to the other. Or, maybe they just want to watch there ill-fated skiers get really hurt. No judgment.


Double Kick Heroes

Release Date: Summer 2019 (First on Nintendo Switch)

Double Kick Heroes is a rhythm shooter where players are to save a dying, apocalyptic world with the power of Metal! The game will have 30 original songs along with licensed songs for the players to have a hell of a road trip through the wasteland for their band to fight through.


Forager

Release Date: Coming Soon (Nintendo Switch, PC)

Forager is a 2D open world adventure/farming simulator game from developer Hopfrog. One of the main influences is the Legend of Zelda series, and players will explore dungeons, build and improve their base, and gain news skills to fight oncoming enemies.


Inmost

Release Date: 2019 (First on Nintendo Switch)

Inmost is an atmospheric, story-driven puzzle platformer, published by Chucklefish and developed by Hidden Layer Games. You will be following three playable characters within one dark, interconnecting story. Players will control a knight, a creature, and a stranger as they progress through an old, abandoned castle as they explore every nook and cranny before defeating the evil that lurks within.


Goat Simulator: The GOATY

Release Date: Available Now

Goat Simulator from Coffee Stain Studios goes mobile on the Nintendo Switch as of today. It includes all previous DLC content released previously for the game.


Unruly Heroes

Release Date: Available Now

Unruly Heroes is a 2D Action-Platformer based on the famous Chinese novel “Journey to the West.” Assuming the role of four unlikely heroes, you will be tested against environmental obstacles and unexpected challenges, along with going toe-to-toe with a rogues gallery of foes. In addition, players will be able to fight their friends in local and online PVP.
