Eyra the Crow Maiden, NES Game Smashes Kickstarter

Eyra the Crow Maiden smashes its Kickstarter goal of $5,500 by raising over $32,000 with 435 backers on March 16, 2020. Made by Connecticut based veteran indie game developers Second Dimension R&T, LLC, Eyra the Crow Maiden is the latest in NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis gaming and was completely funded in less than 24 hours. 

Being developed in both 8-bit and 16-bit versions, Eyra the Crow Maiden is a cross, gameplay-wise between Castlevania, Blades of Vengeance, Jill of the Jungle, and other games.

The game’s story also takes cues and inspirations from the likes of Conan the Barbarian, Tarzan, Red Sonja, and the Sword and Sorcery genre as a whole.

Eyra the Crow Maiden will have players taking control of the barbarian warrior priestess Eyra, as she travels across a world of giant Temple-cities, dark magic, and fantastic creatures, looking for soldiers who were kidnapped by the being called “Infernal Marauder”.

Eyra will only have her training as a warrior priestess and her loyal Familiar to aide her on her journey to stop destruction on a level the world has never seen by Infernal Marauder’s army of enchanted warriors. 

Eyra’s loyal Familiar the Crow will be there to aid her in combat.

The game’s graphics are being developed using Gimp and Aseprite. While the games entire engine is developed in-house by Second Dimension’s lead programmer Antoine Fantys AKA Vectrex28 (FG Software)

Eyra the Crow Maiden‘s music is also developed by Myles Davidson, AKA Famicuber. 

The game has managed to reach every single stretch goal so far. Eyra the Crow Maiden will now not only be coming in both 8-bit and 16-bit forms, but will also be featuring extra levels, power-up upgrades, and vehicle stages on the 16-bit SNES and Genesis versions. 

Developers Second Dimension also contribute to their local community by producing their games using local manufacturers whenever possible. Check out the game here!
