Cris Tales Gameplay Video Out Now

Cris Tales pas future present

It’s been about a year now since Cris Tales was first announced at E3 2019. Modus games first described this project as a new take on a beloved classic — the JRPG.

Developed by Dreams Uncorporated, SYCK, and published by Modus, Cris Tales takes its inspiration from the likes of RPGs like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Valkyrie Profile, and modern classics like Bravely Default and Persona 5.

In Cris Tales, you play in a 2D world but interact with the past, the present, and the future. Using time-traveling abilities during turn-based combat is the key to success in this hand-drawn fairytale world.

Dreams Uncorporated and SYCK has been hard at work with Cris Tales. This past weekend, they released a gameplay trailer. The video shows the combat system, some voice-acted dialogue, and features the time-shifting mechanics that makes this title so unique.

Players are able to peer into the past, act in the present, and watch as the choices they make dynamically change the future — all simultaneously on one screen.

The video gameplay joins heroine Crisbelle and her party as their quest leads through the picturesque coastal kingdom of Saint Clarity, its surprisingly dangerous underbelly, and crystal-coated dungeons teeming with deadly beasts.

It shows how players can cleverly spread their influence across time to solve plights plaguing the town’s citizens and provide a better future for everyone in the breathtaking wider kingdom of Crystallis.

Cris Tales is coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Google Stadia on November 17, 2020. It is also planned to launch at a later date for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X.

The demo is now available on Steam and on GOG, for those who are interested in getting a taste of the game. You can now wishlist and preorder this game, as well as follow updates on all the socials on the website!
